Dear Friends and Family,
God Bless you, your family and friends. I hope you are having a great Winter. I need your help!
As part of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) Team For Cures, I will be participating in the 2016 Mt. Kilimanjaro Trek Team Living Proof from January 16-26th, 2016. I will have the honor of accompanying my patient and friend Dr. Charles Wakefield, a 12 year survivor of Multiple Myeloma. My sweet mother Mary Frances Berryman (Mama) died from Multiple Myeloma in 1997, 18 years ago. This is why I work and now why I will climb.
The Challenge: Climb Mount Kilimanjaro 19,341 ft above sea level and raise $19,341 for the MMRF. This event is a challenge, but nothing compared to the challenges faced by patients with multiple myeloma and their loved ones.
Multiple myeloma is the second most common form of blood cancer and has one of the lowest five-year survival rates of all cancers. While there is no cure, great progress has being made. Thanks to the MMRF, the world's leading private funder of myeloma research, the FDA has approved 7 new treatments. These drugs have tripled the lifespan of myeloma patients. Currently the MMRF is funding 21 additional treatments in various stages of development, giving hope to tens of thousands of patients and their families. We couldn't save my Mama's life but we are saving lives every day and giving that precious gift of HOPE and LIFE.
The Goal: Raise $19,341 for the MMRF!
PLEASE support my participation in the Mt. Kilimanjaro Trek Team Living Proof benefiting the MMRF.
Love you guys,
