This year I'm raising dollars in honor of my dad who is cuurently in a health battle of his own. At the moment he's on a breathing tube and can't talk, but if he could I know he'd say "I'm proud of you Jack. Keep doing your advocacy work and making a difference."

When I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma 21 years ago, I didn't think I'd ever have a chance to meet my grandchildren Ella, Grace, Riley, and now Athena, just born in December.  Given 2-3 years to live, I was just hoping to live 5 years so I could view the turn of the century along with the forecasted chaos.  Well, that didn't happen and I didn't die. So much for prognosticators.

On Saturday, April 2 I will be participating in the MMRF Team for Cures, San Francisco and have set a lofty fundraising goal of $55,000, so I really need everyone's help to reach it.

In the last 13 years, I've seen the past benefits of research dollars resulting in 10 new MM drugs approved by the FDA including 4 in 2015 alone! So your dollars absolutely result in furthering cancer research and treatments...BUT THERE'S STILL NO CURE FOR MM.

As the world's number-one funder of multiple myeloma research, the MMRF has raised over $300 million to fund research worldwide. I hope you'll be able to support my efforts and this wonderful organization.

Thank you for whatever contribution you're able to make as well as thoughts and prayers for my dad.
