Marshall James Conover, or Mickey as he was sometimes known, was born in Camden County New Jersey on August 7, 1943. He grew up in rural New Jersey among his brother, sister and many cousins and enjoyed spending time on his Grandfather’s farm. Marshall served in the United States Navy from 1961 until 1967 on the USS Randolph. He remembered his time in the Navy fondly and would often talk of his travels and the wonderful opportunity he was given to see the world.
His marriage to his beloved wife Anna in 1987 brought together two very opposite characters that somehow fit perfectly together. Their blended family of children and grandchildren will be forever grateful that Marshall and Anna found each other precisely when they did. The partnership they built will remain an inspiration to their children and grandchildren for generations to come.
Marshall will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, his unending generosity, his loyalty and his wisdom. Without his ever being conscious of it, he was a mentor to so many people in his life. His children benefited especially from witnessing his deep appreciation for nature and his incredible strength of character.
Marshall bravely battled Multiple Myeloma for 9 years before finally succumbing to the disease. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and children.
